Josh
Madden was the miracle child of Greg and Emily Madden, a couple who believed
they could not conceive a child. After his mother’s death, he became the
fixation of his father. Josh’s first act of rebellion would be declaring
that he was not going to become a doctor like his father had planned.
Arriving in Pine Valley, Josh stumbled across the FUSION
girls trying to steal Ryan Lavery’s sample from his father’s clinic.
He covered for the girls making it clear to Kendall Slater that he owed her
a favor. The next day he arrived at Erica 
Montgomery’s
set declaring he wanted to be her producer. Erica laughed it off because of
Josh’s lack of experience. He pulled Kendall in for her favor, and he
was hired as Erica’s newest Producer.
High on life, he went to a beach party where out of the corner of his eye he spotted Danielle Frye. After a night of drinks and flirtation, Josh and Dani shared an intimate encounter. Little did Josh know, Dani was not even eighteen years old yet.
Another night at the beach, Josh met feisty Babe Carey. Babe enlisted Josh’s help to force Jamie Martin to break up with her. Josh jumped at the opportunity. He also befriended Amanda Dillon, who wanted Jamie for herself. They plotted to break up the golden couple. As planned, Jamie walked in on them in bed together.
Josh hired Amanda as his assistant at New Beginnings. Amanda was unaware that she was going to become his scapegoat as he planned Erica’s downfall. After drugging Erica, sabotaging her show, and ruining her reputation, Josh’s biggest plot was supposed to come to fruition at her Mardi Gras Ball.
