The Daytime Emmy Awards

My Children holds a very special spot in the history of the Emmy
Awards. Before the Daytime Awards were even created, actress Mary
Fickett (ex-Ruth
Brent Martin) won a statuette for her performance in the 1972
television season. In 1973, the Daytime Emmy Award was inducted,
and All My Children would be nominated for best Daytime Drama
continually from 1975 until 2001. Along the way, they amassed
a great number of nominees and award winners. Most notable are Susan
Lucci (Erica
Kane) who was nominated 19 times before winning in 1998, and David
Canary (Adam) who holds the greatest number of statuettes with five wins.
