(6/18 - updated 1/7) Susan Lucci's daughter, Liza Huber (Passions) and husband, Alex Hesterberg, welcomed their first child on Grandma Susan's 60th birthday!! Royce Alexander was born on Dec. 23 at 6 am in Los Angeles. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 ounces and measured 19.5 inches long. Liza and Alex were married on March 13, 2004. Congrats to all!
(1/7) On January 11, AMC will be among the nominees for the 2007 Writers Guild Awards. Competing against Guiding Light, As The World Turns, and The Young and the Restless, AMC who has not had a stand out year writing wise, did submit two stand out episodes, Tad's testimony in Greg Madden's murder trial, and Di coming clean that she is not Dixie. The awards will be handed out on Sunday, February 11 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
(1/7) Laura Allen (ex-Laura) can be seen in a regular role on the new original series on FX, Dirt. The show is about a tabloid magazine headed by star (and producer) Courtney Cox. Laura plays Julia Mallory on the series that airs on Tuesday nights at 10:00 pm EST and began airing on January 2.

true love and got engaged over the Labor Day weekend earlier this year to Broadway
actor Aaron Staton. The couple wed in small intimate ceremony on December 18.

(12/24) Wedding bells are ringing for another AMC star!!! Chrishell Stause (Amanda) is engaged to boyfriend Matthew Morrison! Matthew was nominated for a Tony in 2005 for his role in The Light in the Piazza and briefly appeared on ATWT this year. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
(12/24) Sydney Penny (Julia) is expecting her first child with husband Robert Powers!! The couple has been married for 11 years and are expecting their bundle in early June. At this time it is unclear if AMC will be writing Sydney's pregnancy into her storyline, but considering Julia's desire to have a child, it sounds like a no brainer to me! Congratulations!!!!!!
(12/24) Daytime once again will be taking over Broadway this February in a gala event to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The now yearly event that began as a celebration by AMC stars for AMC's 35th birthday will be held on February 25 at 7:30 pm at NYC's Town Hall. Now encompassing all of ABC Daytime, over 35 stars are scheduled to appear, including Susan Lucci (Erica), Jacob Young (JR), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), Jeffrey Carlson (Zarf), Alexa Havins (Babe) Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Sydney Penny (Julia), Justin Bruening (Jamie,) Aiden Turner (Aidan), Cady McClain (Dixie), Jeff Branson (Jonathan), Eden Riegel (Bianca), and Walt Willey (Jack)... with more names sure to be added! And new this year, the event go interactive with the debut of Casting Call, a live auction/stage audition that gives members of the audience a chance to appear on AMC or OLTL! (12/9) ABC Daytime has snapped up two award winning writers from Y&R! Kay Alden and Jack Smith have recently been let go by Y&R and soon after were tapped as storyline consultants for ABC's soaps. Details are sketchy at the moment, but stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

(11/18) Great news for Vincent Irizarry (soon to be ex-David)!!! He has been cast in the role of David Chow on The Young & the Restless! Vincent begins filming on November 21, with his first airdate being January 9. This David has a connection to Carmen and is a 13 week role. Go Vincent!!!!

(11/5- updated 11/18) ABC Daytime is putting out a CD of holiday classics featuring some faves from the three ABC soaps! The CD, titled A Holiday Affair it was first availablein Orlando at ABC's Super Soap Weekend, but will be widely available on November 21, including Amazon.com and BestBuy.com. Among the participants are Susan Lucci ( Erica) who performs I'll Be Home for Christmas, Vincent Irizarry (David) doing Please Come Home for Christmas, Eden Riegel (Bianca) sings Santa Baby, Jacob Young (JR) performs Silver Bells, and Bobbie Eakes (Krystal) sings Joy to the World. In addition, Soapnet will be doing a one hour special entitled A Very Soap Christmas featuring many of the performs. The show airs on on December 2 at 1:00 pm EST.

Congratulations to Susan Lucci (Erica) for being
the very first daytime star to be inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable
Magazine's Hall of Fame!!! The award, given out on October 23 at NY's Waldorf
Astoria Hotel was truly monumental for daytime. The other recipients that night
were NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg, Fox's Peter Chernin, Lifetime's Betty Cohen,
media buyer Irwin Gotlieb, Broadcaster Harry Pappas, Meet the Press's Tim Russert,
CBS Paramount's Nancy Tellem, Entertainment Tonight which turned 25
this year.
(11/5) Leven Rambin (Lily) has been using her voice to bring more awareness to autism! As teen Lily Montgomery, who is afflicted with the condition, Leven has already provided a voice to the disorder. But now she has taken on the role of hosting fund raising events for the organization Cure Autism Now. She recently hosted Walk Now events in NY, Washington DC and Houston, TX. (9/10- updated 11/5) Congratulations to AMC Casting Director, Judy Blye Wilson, who has once again received the award for Daytime Episodic Casting at the 22nd Annual Artios Awards given by the Casting Society of America. Having won the award last year, this year Ms. Wilson competed against Fran Bascom (Days), Rob Decina (GL), Mark Teschner (GH), and Jacklynn Briskley (Passions). The award was given out on November 1 with ceremonies that night in both LA and NYC.
(3/26 - updated 11/5) Natalia Cigliuti (Anita) had opted to leave AMC after landing the pilot Waterfront for CBS. The show was a one hour drama about the mayor of Providence, Rhode Island (played by Joe Pantoliano) and had been picked up by the network as a midseason replacement. Unfortunately, the show has since been cancelled before it even aired due to a series of problems in production.
(10/29) Christian Campbell (ex-Bobby) has been cast as Pip in the stage adaptation of the Dickens classic Great Expectations! The show will run from November 8 through December 3 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in NYC. Veteran actress Kathleen Chalfant (who incidently also appeared with Christian in The Book of Daniel - now available on DVD). Hugh Kelly (ex-Travis #2) will be playing the role of Judge LeRoy Fortier
during Spencer's trial. Also on OLTL, Portia Reiners
(TempLily) takes over the role of Britney Jennings. And on B&B, Debbi
Morgan (ex-Angie) plays the role of prosecuting attorney Jennifer Tartaro
in Taylor's trial.
While Michael Lowry (ex-Jake) takes the short term
role of Dr. Hillman beginning on October 30.
(10/8) Thorsten Kaye (Zach) and long time love Susan Haskell (ex-OLTL) are expecting their second child in April!! The new addition will join big sister McKenna, who was born in 2003. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
(10/8) Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos (ex-Hayley and Mateo) are in a development deal with the CW network to produce a comedy loosely based on their experiences working on a soap. The show has received a script commitment. At this time, Kelly and Mark will not be starring in the show, just producing it. Stay tuned as more details filter in!

(Ryan) and wife Vanessa Arevalo! Their new daughter, Leila Emmanualle arrived
on July 7 and weighed in at 6 lbs, 4 oz. Little Leila already has a built in
big brother. Lucas Mathison arrived in April 2003. Congratulations to the Mathison
family!!!!
(7/2) Kelli Giddish (Di) stars in the new online sitcom, The Burg that debuted on June 25. The show is about a group of friends in NYC trying to find their way in life. Kelli plays Courtney, the vain would be actress. Shows run from 1 minute to 15 minutes long and you can keep up with them at The Burg website. And don't forget to check out Courtney's MySpace page!
(6/25) Bad news Soap Talk fans... after four seasons and 12 Daytime Emmy nominations, the show has been cancelled! Said to have been a casualty of low ratings, the show will continue to air its remaining season 4 episodes through the fall and stay on in repeats at the 11 am, 4 pm and 12 midnight timeslot. While I only watched when someone from AMC was on, this show as a terrific vehicle for soap stars and will be greatly missed!
(6/18) Robin Mattson (ex-Janet) tied the knot with boyfriend, former pro soccer play, Werner Roth in a outdoor ceremony in NYC on June 3 in NYC. The bride wore a custome designed gown by Danielle Orsino Couture. The guests had to run across the street to Robin's apartment when it started to rain just after the "I do's"!! James Kiberd (ex-Trevor) and his wife Susan Keith were among the guests. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
(6/18) Jonathan Bennett (ex-JR) takes on the role of Bo Duke in the direct to video release Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, the prequel to last summers hit Dukes of Hazzard film. The almost all new cast began filming this week and is being directed by Bob Berlinger. Willie Nelson is the only cast member to return to the film in the role of Uncle Jesse who takes Bo and Luke Duke in after they are released from jail into his custody.

been cast as George Marston on the new Fox network MyNetwork on the show, Desire:
Table for Three. The show serialized show is fashioned after the Spanish
telenovelas and centers around two brothers with a dream of opening their own
restaurant, but are in love with the same woman. The show begins airing on September
5 at 8:00 pm EST. And in other telenovela news, Marc Menard
(ex-Boyd) has been cast in Secret Obesssions: Watch Over Me another
telenovela for Fox's MyNetwork. This one centers on Julia, and her fiance Sebastian
(Menard) who get involved in a steamy love triagle
with Jack, the man who was hired to protect them! This show premieres in December.

Marshall have taken the plunge! The two got engaged in April while on a trip
to England. They wed on April 8 in the Virgin Islands. Congratulations!!!!

(11/21) Christopher Lawford (ex-Charlie) is in development for a new sitcom for Fox that is based on his own life and experiences. The series, which has yet to be named, would follow Christopher (playing himself) as he attempts to run for office in the town he lives. The show has not yet been picked up. In other Christopher news, he has a book out now, titled Symptoms of Withdrawl: A Memoir of Snapshots and Redemption, available at Amazon.com.
(3/20) Finola Hughes (ex-Anna) book, Soapsuds, is set to be released on June 14. The fictional book follows Kate McPhee, a British soap actress, through her struggles with her fictional and real lives. (1/30) Bobbie Eakes (Krystal) is set to release her very first cd in America this February called "Something Beautiful." The cd features classic songs and standards, as well as two original. The cd is described as more of a jazz and blues sound, which is a lot different than Bobbie's previous cd (which was never released in the US) which had more of a country sound. The CD will be available at the 250 West Productions website and stores across the country in early February.
(8/8) ABC Daytime begins it's DVD series with "Daytime's Greatest Weddings" highlighting some of the most spectacular and memorable weddings in ABC daytime history. Bonus footage on the DVD includes AMC's own Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) taking viewers behind the scenes for interviews. The DVD is available online at most DVD stores including Buy.com and Amazon.com.
