Aidan came to Pine Valley in the summer of 2002 claiming that he wanted
to get to know his aunt, Anna Devane. Chris Stamp hired Aidan 
for
a construction job at Enchantment to build Erica’s new penthouse. While
working he met Kendall, who was there to plant a bug for Erica to get arson
charges dropped. Aidan was the only one standing in her way, so she made a pass
at him, which was viewed by Ryan.
Aidan met Maureen Gorman when he assisted her after a mugging in the park. He put her into hiding when she said that she didn’t want to be seen. Aidan hid her in his motel room at the Pine Cone Motel. During her time at the Pine Cone, Aidan and Maureen developed a friendship, which later blossomed into a steamy romance. After Maureen learned that she was really Maria Santos Grey, who died in a plane crash 5 years ago, she decided to move back to Wildwind to help her remember her life.
Aidan was shot by a woman from his past named Morgan. It was learned
that Aidan was being accused of the murder of his former girlfriend, Fiona and
has been on the run. Aidan stayed in the stables as Maria cared for him. When
he was well enough, he tried to run. Morgan held him hostage but Aidan sweet
talked her into letting him go back to break into Wildwind in turn he tied her
up. He and Maria went to the Bahamas to face off with Julian, and they spent
a hot night on the beach. Aidan rescued Maria from being held hostage by Julian
with a bomb on her leg. And after a face off and fight 
with
Julian, Morgan was killed and Aidan and Maria came back to Pine Valley.
Jack hired Aidan to do some background checking on Chris Stamp, who was engaged to Erica. During that time, he went into hiding with Maria and Maddie when he learned that, while on an outing with Edmund and Mia, Maddie witnessed Chris’ associate Flanders killing Chris. After Flanders found them and planted a bomb on the ship, he threw Maddie overboard and Maria dove in afterwards, miraculously getting her memory back. Aidan dove off the ship in the nick of time. Shortly after that Maria broke his heart by telling him about her memories coming back and that she still loved Edmund.
When Bianca was raped by Michael Cambias, Aidan stood by Kendall, who went to trial Michael’s murder. During the many court dates, Aidan could be found in his room at the Pine Cone Motel with a bulletin board full of facts, figures, and news clippings as he tried to figure out who killed Michael. Feeling sympathy for his feelings for Kendall, Mia grew close to Aidan and the two became lovers after she informed him that Kendall slept with Ryan. But they split after Mia went public about Fred Lomax, a witness in Kendall's trial whom Aidan kept in hiding.
Aidan can be found befriending Anita Santos, who started aiding Edmund
when he was shot and paralyzed. Anita came to Pine Valley from 
Las
Vegas after finding out Bobby Warner, her husband, had an affair with one of
his coworkers. Aidan is a sympathetic, understanding ear to Anita, reassuring
how beautiful she is and that she doesn’t deserve a bad marriage. Aidan
took a trip to Las Vegas to dig up some information on Bobby and find out what
he is hiding from Anita. Seeing Erica in Las Vegas, who was currently on the
run from Pine Valley, Aidan accused Bobby of hiding her, but Bobby denied it.
Edmund intercepted a mysterious call on his cell phone that mumbled something about murder. And he found out that Zach Slater's phone was used at the same time. Aidan is currently teamed up with Edmund to investigate the motives of Zach Slater and why he has come to Pine Valley.
Anita Warner came to Pine Valley from Las Vegas after finding out Bobby Warner, her husband, had an affair with one of his coworkers. Aidan was a sympathetic, understanding ear to Anita, reassuring how beautiful she was and that she did not deserve a bad marriage. Aidan took a trip to Las Vegas to dig up some information on Bobby and find out what he is hiding from Anita. Seeing Erica in Las Vegas, who was currently on the run from Pine Valley, Aidan accused Bobby of hiding her, but Bobby denied it.
Edmund intercepted a mysterious call on his cell phone that mumbled
something about murder. And he found out that Zach Slater's phone was used at
the same time. Edmund turned to Aidan knowing that he cared about Maria’s
safety as much as he did. Aidan was now working as a private 
investigator
at Tad Martin’s firm. The men discovered that Zach was in fact Alexander
Cambias, II and that Maria was not his target, but rather the Kane women for
their role in Michael’s death.
Aidan’s affiliation with Edmund brought him in closer contact with Anita. They began dating around the time that Aidan befriended Jack’s daughter Lily Montgomery. Aidan entertained Lily’s crush not knowing fully how the team felt about him. When Lily caught Aidan in an embrace with Anita, she ran away in a fit. That night, she witnessed Edmund’s death at the hands of Jonathan Lavery. Aidan took the blame for Lily’s trauma, though Anita told him otherwise. Only with Aidan’s help did Lily escape her mathematical world of confusion. Aidan explained to her that they would always be friends, but nothing more.
When Anita left to help Maria settle in California after Edmund’s death, Aidan became the target of Amanda Dillon. Amanda wanted to work as Aidan’s partner at the PI firm, but neither he or Tad were going to hire her.
When Anita returned, she broke things off with Aidan admitting her divorce to Bobby was still too fresh to her. Aidan had bigger problems on his hands when Jonathan returned to town. Aidan lost a friend and Edmund to his last reign of terror. But things had changed now that he had undergone an extreme brain surgery. The surgery had given him slower processing skills. Aidan decided to keep an eye on his old adversary, butting heads with his sister, Erin Lavery. Erin wanted to prove Jonathan was not responsible for a rash of recent crimes in Pine Valley and enlisted Aidan’s help. Their close working relationship was leading to something more.
